Kickoff: 2:30 p.m. CST
Location: Summa Field at InfoCision Stadium, Akron, Ohio
Odds: App State -7 Over/Under 59
After App State’s less than stellar performance last week against Miami, they need to redeem themselves in week four. There’s no nice way of putting it, they choked during a big home game with a record crowd of 34,658. The Mountaineers (1-2) just couldn’t stop Miami’s offense or Brad Kaaya’s power arm. Hopefully they can shake off the 45-10 loss and face Akron this week with a renewed sense of focus.
Akron (2-1) is coming off a 65-38 win against Marshall last week. Quarterback Thomas Woodson played well throwing for four touchdown passes and running for one. The Zips offense should be entertaining to watch since the last two games have been inconsistent. They played poorly against Wisconsin in week two, losing 54-10 leaving us questioning which team we’ll see on the field this week.
The Mountaineers are predicted to win this game by seven points , but with a wobbly defense it’s tough to to say if they will cover the spread. Hopefully App State’s head coach, Scott Satterfield can get the team playing like they did in game one against Tennessee. They are are still trying to prove they are cut out for the FBS life and I have a feeling they will do just that tomorrow.
