Jonathan Woodard of Central Arkansas Is Selected By The Jaguars With The #226 Pick Of The 2016 NFL Draft

A star from the Southland Conference, Jonathan Woodard could make Jacksonville even richer on defense.

Representing the FCS yet again, Jonathan Woodard of Central Arkansas is headed to the NFL as a seventh round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Woodard has one of the biggest wingspans of anyone in the 2016 Draft at 6-6, 271 pounds. He was incredibly productive at getting to the quarterback with multiple All-Southland honors throughout his career.

The Brentwood, Tennessee native is a fierce player that jumps off the film when watching Central Arkansas play. He was a man among boys at times during his career. He must prove that he can still dominate physically at this level.

Woodard has injury concerns and a lack of refinement as a player that scared many teams away. He is a great late round pick that could blossom into a very good defensive lineman.

Expect the Jaguars to attempt to slip him on the practice squad during the early portion of his career. Woodard is a low risk high reward type of player that could make the Jaguars even deeper on the defensive line.

Congratulations to Jonathan Woodard of Central Arkansas on sending another FCS player to the NFL.
