Matthew Ioannidis of Temple selected by Washington with pick #152 of 2016 NFL Draft

Ioannidis second Temple player drafted so far this year.

Derik Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports

Matthew Ioannidis of Temple saw his NFL dreams come true when Washington called his name with pick #152 of the 2016 NFL Draft.

During his senior season, Ioannidis recorded 3.5 sacks, 11.5  tackles for a loss and 40 total tackles on his way to starting every single game for the Owls.

Teams were definitely put on notice during the combine when Ioannidis had 33 reps in the bench press, tying for second out of all defensive linemen with App State defensive end and fellow 2016 draftee Ronald Blair. The downside that strength comes with is a lack of speed, something that Washington will have to address during training camp.

Congratulations to Matthew Ioannidis and the Temple Owls for sending another player to the NFL Draft.
