If you ain't first, you're last, right? Well, not quite. The LA Rams took Cal's Jared Goff with the first overall pick, meaning the Eagles took their guy in North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz with the second overall pick in 2016.
Wentz, of course, had a stellar career at NDSU, passing for over 5,100 yards and 45 touchdowns during his four-year career while leading the Bison to the FCS title in each of his four seasons.
In ESPN's pre-show, Sal Palantonio said the Eagles were planning on making Wentz the guy in the City of Brotherly Love - QB1, the face of the franchise, and all of this coming with Sam Bradford demanding a trade from the Eagles.
Wentz also becomes the first FCS quarterback to be taken in the first round since Joe Flacco in 2008, and things have worked out pretty well for him.
Congrats to Wentz, and the NDSU fan base, for the big night for him and the Bison.
