The Bryan Harsin Era got a little shinier for Red Wolves fans this Thursday when details of the NCAA sanctions were revealed. Per The Advocate from Baton Rouge:

The Cajuns will vacate 22 total wins, including New Orleans Bowl championships in 2011 and 2013, and a shared Sun Belt Conference championship in 2013.

In 2013, the Red Wolves went 8-5, 6-2 in conference to earn a share of the SBC title with ULL, who had finished the year 9-4. The Cajuns not only surrender the title, but their New Orleans Bowl wins against San Diego State (2011) and Tulane (2013). Furthermore, ULL head coach Mark Hudspeth' win total drops from 40 to 18, the frustration from which he'll likely work off at the bench press. The NCAA sanctions stemmed from academic and improper cash benefit allegations committed by a former Cajun coach.

No word from the SBC on whether or not Karl Benson or a representative from the Sun Belt will be on hand to personally award the second-half of the 2013 trophy to the Red Wolves.
