UAB's on the board again! The Packers took a flyer on former Blazers tight end Kennard Backman, drafting him with the 37th pick of the sixth round.
Backman wasn't considered a sixth-round prospect-- many analysts had him going undrafted-- but the Packers see him as a big, athletic H-back. He's got good size (around 6'3", 250 lbs.), and was a really good receiver for four seasons at UAB. He may have to make it on special teams to make a roster, but he's got the physical tools to do it.
