That was so close. Temple did just about everything they could but win the game.
Breaking contain and scrambling for yardage, P.J. Walker tossed a pass down the middle that was snatched out of mid-air by KeiVarae Russell for a game-sealing interception with just over a minute left to play.
Up until that very instant, the game was too close to decide, hence the super-quick and super-simple recap here for us.
Everyone played well tonight. Jahad Thomas had numerous great runs, Tyler Matakevich played his heart out, and they Owls literally could not have done much more to win this game. If there was any doubt before about whether the Cherry and White would represent the AAC East in the title game, I think those doubts can be laid to rest tonight.
I almost feel bad for SMU next week because they're going to get all this frustration taken out on them. Expect to see a 9-1 Temple team later this season against Memphis.
We'll have more on this game soon, but DAMN.
