Week 7 Brings Lots of Points for Conference USA

Western Kentucky became bowl eligible, Middle Tennessee held off FIU, and much more in the Week 7 roundup of C-USA action.

Thursday, October 15

Western Kentucky 55, North Texas 28: The Hilltoppers became bowl eligible with a victory over a North Texas team in transition after the loss of its head coach. Western Kentucky's defense struggled throughout, but the offense did more than enough. RECAP

Saturday, October 17

Mississippi State 45, Louisiana Tech 20: Without Kenneth Dixon, La Tech jumped out to a 14-0 lead, but it was all Mississippi State after that. RECAP

Marshall 33, Florida Atlantic 17: The Thundering Herd rushed for 326 yards in an easy win to remain unbeaten in conference play. RECAP

Middle Tennessee 42, Florida International 34: The Golden Panthers nearly pulled off the comeback, driving past midfield before turning the ball over on downs with one minute to play. Desmond Anderson ran 29 times for 144 yards and three touchdowns for the Blue Raiders.

Old Dominion 37, Charlotte 34: Zach Pascal caught an 11-yard touchdown pass from David Washington with 2:18 to play to give the Monarchs the win. Pascal finished the game with a career-high 11 catches for 231 yards and three scores. Kalif Phillips ran for 204 yards for Charlotte, also a career high.

Southern Mississippi 32, Texas San Antonio 10: The Roadrunners continued their regression this season, allowing the Golden Eagles a 16-0 halftime lead while just gaining 81 yards of offense in the opening two quarters. RECAP
