For three quarters, it was a miserable game. Once again, the Red Wolves opposition scored on its first possession – the fourth time in six games this season. Fredi Knighten, returning to action after sitting out three games with a gimpy groin, fumbled twice and was getting rejected at the line of scrimmage like Charlie Brown on Valentine's Day. By halftime, it was 21-14, Jaguars.
It didn't look better after the half. By the start of the fourth quarter, the Red Wolves were down 31-20 and Cody Clements looked poised to throw darts all over the gridiron. If you want a good idea of how the evening went, just read the thread.
Then something funny happened.
Knighten hooked up with Tres Houston for a pretty touchdown pass, plus a toss to J.D. McKissic for two.
Next, Silky White rumbled in for another score.
Then Ja'Von Rolland-Jones sacked Clements, forced a fumble, and Chris Stone scooped it up in the end zone for a TD.
And then, a Pick Six from Justin Clifton!
29 points in little more than 13 minutes! It was beautiful and ugly to behold! But yeah, for the majority of the game, it was ugly.
Arkansas State was inches away from tying South Alabama, then fumbled the ball backwards 15 yards. #FunBelt Forever!

Yeah. That was painful. The red zone was Red Wolves kryptonite. Plus, A-State decided to open the game with a fake punt, which failed again (resulting in the before mentioned fourth opening possession TD by the opposition this season). Oh yeah, and Coach Blake Anderson was on national TV wearing a t-shirt. The fans rumbled like terrible thunder.
And then, Arkansas State's transfer from TCU rallied the faithful!
Support us when we are up or down regardless! We love y'all support just as much as yall love our success! We are all a family! #staystrong

Stay Strong! So we did. And if we didn't, well, the A-State Defense was strong enough for us all.
Red Wolves, how could we ever think you'd let us down? A-State wins 49-31, and you keep wearing that t-shirt and your hat on backwards, Coach Anderson. I'm down, yo.
