East Carolina Pirates, BYU Cougars ranked in Coaches and AP polls, other poll notes

The Group of Five is finally starting to get some respect after the East Carolina Pirates downed ACC opponents in back-to-back weeks. Brigham Young followed suit beating Virginia. How do the polls shake up?

The East Carolina Pirates might be the best football team in North Carolina, and it's reflected in the USA Today Coaches poll with ECU checking in at No. 24 just one spot behind the Duke Blue Devils and No. 23 in the AP poll, ahead of unranked Duke. The Pirates are ranked in the top 25 after their 70-41 thrashing of the Tar Heels at home.

BYU followed suit by taking care of business on the road at Virginia. The Cougars are ranked No. 21 in the Coaches poll and No. 20 in the AP Poll.

The Cougars are looking at the possibility of running the table a perfect 12-0, East Carolina's only slip up is a 33-23 loss at South Carolina.

Boise State romped Louisiana-Lafayette  at home last night but its season-opening defeat against Ole Miss seems to have drained all the love pollsters have for the Broncos.

Here's how the polls shaped up.
