Keep calm and FOOTBALL.
Ladies and gentleman, it is finally here. Eastern Washington and Sam Houston State gave us a fine show last Saturday, but the moment we here at Underdog Dynasty have been waiting for is finally here.
Group of Five football begins tonight as Georgia State opens up the entirety of FBS football, hosting Abilene Christian at the Georgia Dome.
Abilene Christian spent last season in a transitional season from Division II to the FCS and will debut tonight as a full FCS member and member of the Southland Conference. The Wildcats had mixed results with their transitional schedule, notching six wins with three against lower-caliber in-state FCS schools.
Abilene Christian also went into Las Cruces, N.M. and came within two yards of knocking off New Mexico State.
Georgia State is looking at this game as its first win as an FBS and Sun Belt Conference member. The Panthers sputtered to 0-12 last season. Three of those losses were to FCS opponents, however three of them were one possession losses to Sun Belt foes.
A win tonight could have the Panthers dreaming of a 2-0 start with New Mexico State being the next team to come into the Georgia Dome.
Time: 7:00 PM ET
Location: Georgia Dome, Atlanta, Ga.
I'm Sean Kramer, social media manager and Sun Belt writer for Underdog Dynasty and I'll be your host. We'll also have Georgia State beat writer Karl Strength venting his frustrations and feelings of elation in this thread.
