Nicholls State has hired Lousiana-Lafyette's Safeties and Linebackers coach Tim Rebowe. This will be Rebowe's first collegiate head coaching gig after serving 20 years as an assistant coach and will be returning to where it all started.
Rebowe's first coaching job was at Nicholls State, where he served as the defensive backs coach for four seasons before being promoted to Assistant Head Coach and also Recruiting Coordinator. He resigned from coaching the Colonels in 2001 but soon was picked up at Louisiana-Monroe.
When he was with the Indians (remember, ULM didn't change their name to Warhawks until 2006), Rebowe was the Cornerbacks coach and was named Interim Head Coach in 2003.
The very next year, he was picked up at Louisiana-Lafayette where he served 11 seasons for the Ragin' Cajuns. In that time, the Ragin' Cajuns managed to attend and win three straight bowl games (and will be on its way to a forth this season, presumably).
Rebowe will be looking to resurrect the Colonels who went 0-11 this season and 10-38 under previous head coach Charlie Stubbs.
